Takelia Hammett is a Christian freelance writer that finds her inspiration to write from family, friends, music, art, and nature. Her passion for writing led her to pursue and obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Allen University, Columbia, SC. While studying as an undergraduate student at Allen University, she was inducted into the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society Chi Pi Chapter, served as Miss Allen University 2011-2012, and was a faithful member of Brothers and Sisters in Christ (B.A.S.I.C.), an organization dedicated to helping college students maintain a relationship with God.

Hammett decided to further her education at Southern New Hampshire University where she earned her Master of Arts Degree in English and Creative Writing. After graduate school, she worked as a long-term substitute English teacher where she taught elementary fifth and sixth grade students. Shortly after being a substitute, she landed a position as Literacy Coordinator at Summerton Early Childhood Center in which she worked with the Save the Children Program. Later, she became the Program Director for the 21st Century Community Learning Center at her school site. She finds pleasure in writing for children, reading to children, and teaching them about the love of God.

She is the mother of two wonderful boys whom she enjoys playing basketball with, going fishing, taking trips to the park, and snuggling on the couch to read a good book or watch a movie. She is a native of Manning, South Carolina.
